K.A.S.T. to Sponsor CPAA Release Boat

Mike Webb – Steve Boillot of K.A.S.T. will be sponsoring the release boat for C.P.A.A.

Central Pro Am is excited to announce that Fred Ulrich and his outstanding crew will be furnishing their release boat at our events this year. With the new Alabama rig on the market I feel that it is even more important to have the release boat. Last year if a tournament had 30 boats the first place was averaging 16 to 18 lbs of fish, probably only 45% of the field had fish to weigh-in.  Well that will not be the case this year. With this new exciting lure my belief is that most of the people fishin have a chance to have a nice limit. That friends is why it is more important than ever to have a release boat to insure the health of the fish.  If our anglers take care of the fish prior to the weigh-in the way they have in the past we will have a very minimal number of fish harmed with the addition of this added feature. Without our anglers doing the great job of caring for the fish 10 release boats wouldn’t help. Thanks to all of our fisherman in advance because we know you will continue the good work.

A huge thank you also to Mike Webb and Steve Boillot for assisting Central Pro Am with the cost of our release boat. Mike and Steve are sponsored by Bass Pro Shops, Mercury Marine, Nitro Boats, O’reilly Automotive, Branson Tourism Center, Humminbird Electronics, Branson.com, Banquet Foods, Mothers Wax, Blaster, Royal Purple, Loc-R-Bar, Super Chips Programmers, Chomper Lures, Wrapaholic but not least K.A.S.T. (Kids Are Special Too) Tournaments.

New Weigh – In Equipment

In an effort to keep improving Central Pro-Am circuit for our loyal fishermen and fans.  We recently purchased a completely  new weigh-in package that includes state of the art scales, computer, automatic printer, L.E.D. Leader Board and much more.  Pro-Tournament Scale Company has stepped up to the plate to  help Central Pro-Am make this possible. Check out this amazing new technology at their website www.TournamentScales.com.

The weigh-in process will be as follows:
Bring  your fish to the scales, put the fish in our weigh-in bags and set it on our new scale (within 5 seconds the scales will automatically lock in the weight even if the fish are moving around). The Tournament Official will push a button to post the fisherman’s weight. This does three things; the bag weight will automatically appear on the Bass Pro Shops leader board, the computer will record the weight and lastly automatically print a weigh-in receipt for the fisherman.

This process will help to maximize our efficiency and provide the highest level of professional and expedient weigh-in procedures for our anglers.

On April 27th 2012 Central Pro Am will once again be hosting our 3rd annual fishing tournament for the Purple Heart Recipients. We will be fishing Lake Taneycomo this year. We will be using 10 pontoon boats furnished by Lamar at Scotties Trout Dock in downtown Branson. We will have 2 captains per boat so I am looking for 25 folks that would like to help on the boats and at our weigh in.  Everyone will arrive at the dock at 11am and our weigh in will start at 3pm sharp. This is a great event and Central Pro Am is honored to be a part of it. Thank you Marlyce  and Branson.com for the privilege to partner in this event.

Alabama Rig Survey Results

A few weeks ago we asked our Central Pro Am anglers to vote on whether we should consider banning the Alabama Rig at our events.  Here is the results, we recieved approximately 220 responses to our request and 150 people or 69% voted to allow the rig to be used while 70 people wanted it banned.

Due to these numbers we will be allowing the use of the Alabama Rig under the rules of the MO. Dept of Conservation, this means also that even if you are fishing in Arkansas you can still only use 3 hooks on the rig.

Cliff is sponsored by Lew’s Rods and Reels and Triton Boats.  Stop by the Sportsman Factory Outlet store on Bennett Ave in Springfield, MO and hear Jim’s story of the day. With the recent announcement of Ranger Boats and Mercury Motors as our official boat and motor sponsors for this 2012 year we have decided to have both our 2012 Pro Am Championship and Team Championship on Bull Shoals Lake.

For the past two years fishing on Bull Shoals has been nothing short of phenomenal so we look forward to some heavy bags being weighed in. Last year our host marina was Bull Shoals boat dock and I have to say that Central Pro Am and our fishermen are honored to be going back to Steve’s facility. The owners and crew at the Bull Shoals Boat Dock are incredible and I promise you that is an understatement. We will be arranging our host lodging and other pieces of the puzzle shortly and provide that information in an upcoming article.

Small Mouth – Bronze Back – Fishin Magazine - Table Rock Lake

Small Mouth Explosion

Another great article from February 2002 “Fishin Magazine”. These articles are great for looking back at what lures and fishing patterns were popular 10 plus years ago as this species of Bass began to rise in numbers.  Remember the Central Pro-Am anglers shop at local area super stores such as Fin & Feather here in Springfield Missouri.

Small Mouth fishing has become an integral part of how we fish Bass tournaments, we see more sacks of fish coming in to the weigh-ins containing fat small mouth bass.

Guys and Gals here is an article from a past issue of Fishin Magazine. These articles give us a chance to look back at tactics, tournaments and news from the past decade of fishing with Central Pro-Am. What a great way to see what baits won a tournament on a certain lake and at a specific time of year. Also great articles like this one on “Dead Sticking” Stick Baits will help future anglers add a few tricks to their tackle box!
